This is a story about my life, which changed me as a person who I am today. I joined his coaching for CAT preparation with my friends during my graduation. I met Abbas Sir there. The first word when i saw him was the perfectionist in every case. Taking his scores aside because he cracked CAT & GMAT always (being in the top 1% percentilers list), he was very unique in his way of teaching. He was a great mentor and why not? More than 7 years of teaching. Even after my Aptitude Results he helped me with the preparation of GD, PI personally without even asking as he started his on teaching classes. I scored decent enough and cracked few colleges and from it sir helped me to choose School of Business Design as it was the most preferable and the best option for me and after almost 1 month of my MBA even I am assured of it. Sir helped me like a brother would do and mentored me like a child and the best part was he was beside me when and wherever I needed help he was their be it emotionally as a support system, studies. The journey of CAT began in 2018. I was no more than a student with limited verbal skill and had literally no strategy or idea on how to bell the CAT. After a few months, I even thought of dropping the plan of CAT seeing my degrading VARC scores. The person who infused confidence in me was Abbas Imran ; though he was a faculty of maths in which he is literally genius, he also gave me a strategy on handling VARC. Believe me, though I don't know how much I developed my literary skill of English I can humbly say that today I know how to tame the VARC part. I will always remain indebted for the help that you extended until the interviews.

During my preparation for CAT 2018, I joined MBA Coaching around July. With about 4 months to prepare and a lack of confidence in my own ability, I met Abbas sir. He was the maths teacher at the institute at that point. Over the next few weeks, Abbas sir, besides being my teacher, became a friend of mine. He always took time out of his busy schedule to give all his students the advice they needed. Keep in mind, he took the time to know us so that he could give the best possible advice. I went on to do decent in the exam and became a part of IIM Bodhgaya which I never thought was possible, and it was majorly because of his guidance. Besides all the academic advice, he made sure to motivate and push me to do better. He made me believe in myself.

During my preparation for CAT 2019, I joined his classes. There, I met Abbas sir. He used to teach Maths. The way he teaches is very friendly, the ambiance of the classroom used to be very much different. Learning maths from him is like having coffee and watching a movie. Within a few months, he became very friendly to me. He is like an elder brother to me. I sat for the exam and got a decent score. I was not happy with it in the first place, but then Abbas sir told me to fill up a few good colleges. He guided me fully at that time, from my preparation of PI to GDs. Even he launched himself a few programs outside Erudite where he invited me, to learn the effective way of cracking PIs and GDs by inviting guests from several B-schools. Then finally, after 2 months of PI and GD in several B-Schools, I got selected in many of them. Amongst those, he instructed me to take admission to SOIL Gurgaon. I would say that without him, I would not have been able to reach here. One of the best teachers, mentors in my life!! Thank you, Sir(Brother)!!

Clearing a competitive exam is not a small task it requires an immense amount of hard-work thorough understanding of basic concepts, lot of dedication and a very good mentor. Abbas Imran taught me everything about CAT whether it’s understanding the short-cut methods, a brief knowledge about basic of Quants or solving the problems with a smart approach. He didn’t just guide me in Quants but also kept me motivated throughout the course and helped me crack it. The most important part of clearing a competitive exam lies with the maximum tries of mock test series but the secret lies with analysis of score and the questions and with the time management of test. Abbas Imran also helped me in recognizing this basic importance of test series because of which I felt 100% confident during my CAT exam. Once I cleared my CAT exam, I appeared for many interviews of IIMs and to clear this interviews Abbas even helped me with a lot of mock interviews and analyse my performance and this became the winning factor for me. I received offers from many IIMs, Abbas guided me in this ambiguous situation, he sat with me and analyse every IIM from where I received the offer letter and helped me to choose IIM Sirmaur which has now become the amazing journey of my life. I am very glad to have a mentor, teacher and friend like Abbas Imran.

Abbas Imran is one of the most fantastic teachers I have come across so far. He is conceptually crystal clear. The most important aspect between a student and a mentor for learning is that there needs to be an ease of communication. Abbas imran makes it extremely easy to communicate with him. Also his friendly attitude makes doubt clearing all the more easy. I thought it would be best to write this post on teachers day as to appreciate the effort he puts in for his students. Abbas Imran has been an exceptional mentor to me. His kindness, willingness to share his own experiences and wisdom while listening closely, are all qualities that I’ve learned from.
